In the last few months, my periods have become more irregular - they used to be every 4 weeks-ish and now they range from 5 and a bit weeks to just over 3! Like at the moment, it's been 2 weeks and a day since my last period and I've just started another! They're also getting a bit more painful
Does anyone know if this is normal?
I'm 18, had periods since I was 12 so it's not my body getting used to it. Anyone got any advice, other than to go to the GP?

Go to the GP.
Going on the pill should make them more regular and less painful.

Mine sometimes do that, but it's probably because I'm on the pill, which I'm assuming you're not... I'd have a chat with your GP about it incase you need to get it checked out. Alternatively, if it's just your body being a typical confusing human body and this is natural, you could go on the pill to sort your cycle out! Best of luck, hope it works out x

Could it be due to stress? My periods got really heavy and frequent around when I was starting uni, even though I didn't feel stressed. I was told that overbleeding doesn't tend to be a huge medical problem (although go to the doctors anyway, as my uni doctors is fairly rubbish) and was put on the contraceptive injection to control the bleeding (which it did sort, as well as the pain and general feeling crappy from losing that much fluid).
