Yup, happened to me as well with Durham. I think everyone's forms got sent off a while after UCAS processed them this year, for whatever reason, so no-one's at a disadvantage. Deadlines (eg medicine) apply to the 'sent' date, not the date unis eventually got the forms.

Yeh, as has already been said - that's UCAS for you! I had the same issue with Durham.. I sent mine on the 4th, but their letter said 25th.

I think it's Durham's fault rather than UCAS's, they haven't got the same level of technology as some other universities.

Which isn't really Durham's fault...UCAS are still supposed to supply both electronic and printed data.

I heard they're doing away with printed data from this year onwards, no?

Yeah apparently in 2006 onwards it will be electronic only.

    Doesn't seem to follow!

I applied to Durham on 26/10, received their acknowledgement letter about 10 days later and received an offer from them on 22/11!

So I'm not sure what happened to your applications! Sounds like they got caught up at UCAS somewhere!!

I havnt recived confirmation from Durham yet, but I have two offers in the space of ten days since they claimed to have sent my application off. So Im pretty confident it got to all the unis I applied to straight away.

Sent my form and it was processed on the 10th October, and Durham got it on the 31st. But there's nothing I can do so I don't see the point in worrying about it.

UCAS will be busy right about now.

I'm inclined to believe that Durham's at "fault" for the delay in receiving the applications, not UCAS. This seems to be a common trend accross all applicants who have applied to Durham, whereby Durham (and only Durham) receives their applications later then the other universities.

Whatever the case, there's nothing to worry about. The offer will come rolling in soon. =)

acknowledgement letter? I've never had any of those and I've had three and a half offers (last one requires interview) and one confirmation letter. is it standard for them to write you just to say they've got your application before they decide?

I sent my UCAS on October 7, and Durham received it on November 10. Beat that!
