No they throw away the match.
Just THREE people went up to double figures.

    Englands top order: failed.
    Middle order: failed.
    Tail enders: failed.

What if England reach the final and Kevin P doesn't fire on that day? What then?

Well that's the end of it. Just look at the scorecard- sole contributions from Bell and KP. Ludicrous.

A pity, things were going so well. 'Tis strange how Pieterson managed to both save and utterly destroy our innings. 250 Is plenty to defend, but probably not enough against the Aussies

The chances of them reaching the final are so low that I'm not bothered about the likelihoods of KP putting up a show that day or not

Lets remember that Kevin P got TWO lifelines. If he hadn't, then?

And 250 is below par. England don't have the bowling to defend it.

Yeah well that's just taking the positives out of it, isn't it? Atleast they got around the 250 mark :hmmmm:

I'm making a general statement; that the English team is revolving around one player. Who himself got two chances!

Let's just hope they bowl well now...

    Bowl well?
Name their bowlers? Aussie batsmen have been in destructive form, as you have seen so far....

And don't forget- his ton this time 'round was his slowest ever and his first in one-dayers since that series in South Africa about, what, 26 months ago. Stodgy, stodgy.

ahh but we have Saj Mahmood! Watch as he cunningly bowls it down the legside.

    Again.

    And Again.

Hmm. Maybe Monty will finally work out how to bowl agressively in ODIs?

Edit: To be fair, Bell did well to hold the first half of the innings together. Collingwood could also have saved the game had he managed to get himself in. Nixon and Bopara also did well considering the circumstances they were in. Our problem is that we're currently carrying too much dead weight. Flintoff barely qualifies as an all-rounder anymore, Vaughan's a liability and Strauss should have been introduced much earlier.
