Should a personal statement include information about my previous grades?

Ie, my second year transcript is ****e, which they can see, but all of my essay grades and coursework this year is averaging 69. I think my references have mentioned this but I obvs don't know as I can't read them, so should I include something explaining away my bad second year grades? It's an obvious weakness they'll see?

Or just ignore it. And be positive.

I'd be inclined to remain fairly positive, perhaps suggesting that results this year are promising. Not sure about the convention on mentioning grades explicitly in a PS, seems a little uncouth.. predicted degree spec should be in there somewhere though surely?- if not as a separate field in the app process then I would definitely look to include it in the body of my PS (assuming it is promising)

I am sure there is some place for that on the applications. You can mention about it in the PS but don't add any fireworks or flashing lights.

Cool. I shall remain positive, like I said, I'm pretty sure my references have mentioned it - they asked me specifically for all my coursework grades.
