I'm a girl and what i've noticed is that the boys treat you better is they respect you and can get along with you. The guys i know will be perfectly respectful (well ok, that may be a tiny lie, but they know how far they can go before they need to stop) but if they don't respect you they will treat you pretty badly.

For example, one of my guy friends was hooking up with this girl (a **** buddy sort of thing) and he was horrible to her. Literally horrible, it made me feel sick. But towards me (we've been good friends for about 8+ years) he is one of the nicest guys i know, and he sticks up for me and always has. Yet towards her he was an absolute prick. So i asked him about it one day, and he said how i can respect her if she can't even respect her own self.

On the other hand, a fat ugly ginger minger will get a face full of door, as the door rebounds and smacks her in the face.

Well, I think this tends to depend on the person. For instance I will hold the door for anyone at uni, work, or out shopping because it is good manners to do that, rather than let the door slam in their face. I also would move out of the way for anyone if I was blocking their way in a shop or at work or in a corridor at uni, because like holding the door, it is good manners to do so, rather than being ignorant. So in these type of circumstances I treat everyone equal, and to be honest, I think a lot of people would treat everyone equal. Sure some people never hold the door, or move out of your way, but they are simply ignorant people.

However, I can see your point that people tend to treat pretty people better than ugly people. The reason for this is though is rather obvious, think about it for a second; if you're a guy, you aren't going to approach a girl you do not fancy, and you probably aren't going to go out of your way to help a girl you do not fancy or like either. So it is obvious why guys and girls treat "pretty" people better than "ugly" people - they are interested in them, whether it be for sex, dating, or friendship, people always treat those they are interested in better than those they are not. It just happens to be that people seemingly treat pretty people better than ugly people. I don't think they are being mean or promoting inequality, it is simply how we are as human beings.

i treat all the girls the same really but it really does depend on my mood, i think i used to treat pretty girls better when i was young but my view has changed :biggrin:

in my sixth form, the guys always rush to open doors for the "hot" female teachers only.

I do this too! There was a girl sat opposite me on the bus today who overdid the eye shadow and I just couldn't figure out why anyone would enjoy that image. Looking like you've just gone 10 rounds with Mike Tyson whilst wearing an armoured burka isn't exactly an attractive appearance.

I don't consciously treat anyone differently, but if a girl is stunningly good-looking, I am suddenly filled with an urge to go the extra mile for her - give her things, pick up her half of the bill if we've gone for coffee etc. It's actually quite awkward, because it happens even if I have no intention of getting with her :tongue:

No, because I'm not some beta phaggot who lets his behaviour be altered by physical attraction, if anything I'm more likely to be a bit spiky towards her to get under her skin and make sure that she is thinking about me rather than fawning over her like every other guy
