    Hey tsr,

I do WJEC english and have completed all three speaking and listening tasks. They are all marked out of 20, therefore out of a cumulative total of 60. However, my teacher said the marks of 60 have been converted to out of 40 by the english department :/ , is this the case with all of you?

Yeah.. That's right - you're speaking and listening is supposed to be given as a mark out of 40. Your teachers don't have to do it like that, they could just approximate what they think you deserve with out of 40 over all 3 tasks. What have you got on your written coursework?

72/80 in written coursework, and 40/40 in speaking. Any ideas on what I need for a* overall in exam?

I'm at 69/80 for cw, and not sure about speaking - but I think it's a high A.
You should be aiming for about 70/80 on each paper, that should just about get you an A* overall.

As far as I know, the A* grade boundary starts at 36/40 so that's an A*, I think.
