I'll be studying at Gresham's next year and there's this Combined Cadet Force [CCF] programme offered as extra-curricular. Is it worth taking? What have you heard about it? Those who have already taken this, please tell me all you can about it.
    Thanks.

Yeah I guess it'd be a lot of fun. Though I'm worried if it'd take too much time and be too exhausting.

its really good fun there are so many courses that are really cheap for those in ccf and often its just about £15 for food for a week on some courses!! in navy we can do stuff like scuba diving, sailing and pretty much any water sport... we even got to sail some big boats in the sea!!

Do I get to choose whether I'd be in RAF, RN or Army. And what would you suggest?

And at which age do students join? Is it possible at Lower Sixth Form as I'm going to attend Lower Sixth form?

At my school you start in Year 10. Contacts are fine. RAF is the best section as you get to go flying and gliding, as well as the stuff the Army do (rifles!) except we do the course faster because RAF people are generally more academic and clever
