I've noticed reference to "GCSE Nazis" on another thread.

I know that Oxford and Birmingham look for lots of A*s at GCSEs - are there any others?

    Thanks

I went to a study day at Oxford this month. They basically told us that they don't really look at your AS results, and only your GCSE results (so lots of A*s -.-") and A2 predictions.

I think Cardiff have a 5 A*+ policy. Only one I can think from the top of my head other than Birmingham :P.

King's College London looks for either lots of A*s at GCSE or a very high UKCAT. Quite a lot of candidates seem to have both.

Do all universities look at the A* percentage or the number of A* grades?

I have 8 A*s, but my percentage is only 60% because I took some extra's.

Depends on the university. Oxford look at the %, while Birmingham look at the raw number.

    Durham!
That may be true for other subjects, but for medicine, Durham don't really place GCSEs high on their importance list.
