I'm a confident guy in social situations and am usually fine with girls. I broke up with my girlfriend last year from a relationship that had lasted for two years and, although I don't want to go in to details, it shattered my confidence a bit.

Since then I have met and been out with a few girls but I still find it hard to approach girls that I meet randomly. The thing that triggered this post, for example, was the fact that a girl was just smiling at me from across the room but I didn't go and speak to her!

What do you think I should do to regain my confidence?
