I've not been to an interview for years, as I've been studying. I got a call about an interview this evening, and it's at 9.30 tomorrow morning, so I have no time to go and buy anything.

It's at a nursery. What would be acceptable to wear? I've got a pair of black trousers, but the only tops I've got that aren't slogan t shirts etc are a floral top/dress that I normally wear with leggings, or a long sleeved checked shirt. I've got no smart clothes such as blouses as it's not really my style.

Do you think either of these would be suitable? I'm panicking slightly as I don't have a smart work suit.

Just go as smart as you can.

I'd say go with the black trousers and checked shirt, but with a V-neck jumper or cardigan (if you have one) over the top to make it look smarter. Similar to the woman in the centre here:

EDIT: Especially as it's at a nursery and not an office or something, proper business attire probably isn't essential.
And good luck with the interview!

I can't really see it, but the black top you're wearing in your profile picture looks smart ish, could you wear that?
