I have spent all term trying to get with a girl, and in our friendship group they all know im trying, it seems really impossible. Now everyone at uni is in their groups there is no way in hell an outsider could ask a girl out from that group so you see what i mean?

obviously you can't just waltz into a group of people and ask one out....

when you see someone you like and vaguely know....walk over and say hi....but when they are alone....

ps. this doesn't mean stalk them and walk up to them in a dark alleyway somewhere

You need to look in places that other people don't - find a skip and have a look in there.

You're trying too hard. No one likes 'one of those' people.

Why 'try' and find a girlfriend? That whole idea doesn't make any sense too me.

Stop trying. When the right girl comes along, make a move. Don't be one of those guys that flirts with any attractive girl and comes off desperate.

tis a bit of a cliché but there's some truth in it where women are concerned: the harder you try the less likely you are to succeed

But the right girl wont come along because in university, people close off into groups and people dont speak to each other outside those groups!

Yes they will. Its not like school where everyones in their little groups. People are much more open to meeting new people and socialising.

Dont just ask any and every girl you see just for the sake of it. Become friends with them, get to know them first before you ask them out. Dont just flit around from girl to girl hoping one will eventually say yes. Its blatantly obvious you dont like these girls for any reason other than they've got a vagina.
