The loan I'm referring to is the usually (except for London) £1188 you get in your bank account every term totalling £3564.
Some people use it for their uni accommodation with their parents paying for living costs (food, books, nights out etc), and some use it for living costs with their parents paying accommodation.
If you use it for living costs, how much of it do you spend a year?

Most people use it for their accomodation, and in many cases it doesn't even stretch that far. I didn't take the loan, but i got the grant instead. All of it went on accom, with me finding a job to pay for living costs.

My maintenance loan pays for accommodation with a couple of hundred left for living costs.

I get £2324 due to being a NHs student, so all of mine (and the entirety of my NHS bursary) goes on rent. If I didn't have my parents to help me with food and bill costs, I'd be in trouble.
