Taken that, academically, I'd make a pretty competitive candidate for a medical school in the UK with my predicted grades and achievements, would my poor work experience make it impossible for me to get in?
By poor I mean that due to making the decision for Medicine quite late, I've done 2 weeks at a research institute, a week at a dentist but only ONE DAY shadowing a general surgeon.
    I'm an EU student.

It's what you make of it that counts.

I wouldn't say it's impossible for you to get in. Last time I looked, Oxford for example doesn't even require any work experience.

Haven't you got some time until applications close? Over the summer you could get some more work experience?

    Thanks for the response!

I absolutely have no time. I am from Cyprus and as soon as the exams are done I have to go and serve in the army for 2 years...

The good thing is that there are unis specifying that they realise that not everyone will have been able to have the perfect work experience.
