Hey guys, I have received conditional offers from Brunel and City University and the area of study is IT. I am just looking for views of people who have been in a similar situation to me to post some reviews of both. It would be helpful.

    Thanks.

I'm in a similar situation to you except I'm doing Computer Science.

Brunel attracts me more. Everything is on one campus and it looks great! :yy:

I originally planned to stay at home but after seeing Brunel, I think I've changed my mind.....but it will cost more to stay there

If I go to City, I can stay at home and the cost i.e travel fees and things I need would be much less...

Can't make my mind up :s:

Yeah guys, I was at Brunel today, the campus is amazing but it took me about 2 hours to get to Uxbridge. It felt much nicer than being at City no doubt. But if the courses are similar and it reduces my traveling time by 60%, is Brunel really a good choice hmm...Confucious...

Hey Dom - Don't know about city but i think the BSI at Brunel is pretty good because of the link with SAP - this is the blog of an international student who is currently doing that course http://xhino.wordpress.com/

I am at brunel and my friends are doing the SAP MSc course. The course is very tough, it is full of course work and you write 2 exams at the end of your lectures. The SAP TERP 10 certification is a huge plus for that course and there are industry projects that could lead to permanent employment. It is a very good course but immensely challenging and by no means for the faint of heart. The SAP certification exam doesn't have a very high pass rate. But if you know what you are doing then I recommend it. On the other hand City is a very good uni mainly because of CASS reputation which is huge amongst the Investment Banks. The choice will be determined by what industry you plan to enter after your masters. If you need to enter an investment bank, please choose City but otherwise brunel has a great engineering and IT reputation.

Hi, I am in the same boat. I have got offer from brunel for the M. Sc. in BIS with SAP and from city for M. Sc. in business system analysis and design. I am also bit confused to find out which one will be better for me. My preference only the course structure, teaching staff and the career prospects. I think i will need to contact both course managers and will try to contact past students. i will do when i will be back from holiday next week, until then i will keep watching this forum. Thanks.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT DO THE MSc in Buisness Systems Intergration (with SAP tech) AT BRUNEL. The course is really badly run the lecturers don't know what they are on about and I wasted alot of time and money on the course. Apply to the mirror course at City if you really want to do this course. If you do decide to do this course there are only 2 SAP specialists (a Greek lady who is very average and a misrable Mexican who gives you a different answer each time you ask him a question). The lecturers try to avoid you and stick "GTA's" Graduate Training Assistants to help who alot of the time are useless and are trying to make a living whilst completing their PhD. Avoid this course and any other MSc @ Brunel!!!!!!

    An Awful Course Avoid!!!!

    These 2 are of similar ilk. Ranked B 41/ C 38 domestically.

    B 251 v C unranked for THES 2012

    QS : B 351 v C: 356

So really neck and neck. Except with THES, that seems to have Brunel way higher.

An excellent choice. Brunel's courses are badly run and poorly accredited. You will get a job far easier if you get a degree from City.
