So I want to study CS at Uni. I was considering doing an extended project next year. If I was to do so I'd want to do something Computer Science related!

Any ideas on the sort of topic I could investigate?

    Has anyone done this themselves?

I know someone who did an EPQ on ciphers. I am not sure what grade he got, but it didn't sound like a hard topic.

If I was to do one now (unfortunately the time has passed) I would do something like "Cracking Classical Ciphers with Modern Techniques".
I don't know what the criteria are for a project, but seems reasonable to me since you can do it both practically (actually crack ciphers with modern techniques) and show how the underlying Maths works.
Have you ever experienced racism/sexism at uni?
