Im struggling to decide what uni to go to and would like some advice. So far i have 3 offers from: Bath(A*AA), Southampton(AAA), and Imperial(AAA). Bath and Southampton offers are for Mechanical engineering, While imperial is biomedical engineering. I originally applied for mechanical engineering at imperial but was unsuccessful and got an offer for biomedical engineering.
I was wondering whether the biomedical engineering is a good course too choose? or would it be better to choose mechanical engineering for the future? whether, the fact that imperial is more a 'Prestigious' uni that Southampton, will make a difference in the future in terms of job prospects? and finally what would u do in my position and why?
    thanks

Would you enjoy biomedical engineering? If you think you'd like mechanical more, I'd go with that.
No point getting a degree in something you don't like, just to get a job that you don't like, regardless if its a 'better' job than the other.

I think id prefer mechanical engineering for now as i am not sure what to specialise in later , however if i did go imperial and got better grades than expected is it possible to change course ? and which uni is better for mechanical engineering for future prospects out of the three?

I'm in a similar situation to you. I was unsuccessful for Mechanical Engineering at Imperial, an refused for my application to be transfered to another department as Imperial courses are not easy. They are by far hard and challenging, and if I don't enjoy the subject, I know i'll end up dropping out. Apparantly, course transfer at Imperial is near as no difference, impossible.

I'd go Southampton, in fact I am.

Southampton just seems to have a much better student atmosphere. Southampton had a feel of a town dependant on students and so was the place to be to enjoy yourself over the course of the degree, whereas at Bath, despite it being a beautiful city, was not to my liking.
