Do you think you'd want to give that up if you had a fun caring relationship like that?

Basically I'm asking how important is good sex in sustaining a relationship?

Do you think you can get bored of good sex? Or a relationship which has good sex?

Sex is probably going to be a part of most relationships.

If the relationship lasts a while, I'm sure one or the other being bad at sex wouldn't be too much of a bad thing. You'd make up for it in the long run, I guess? :dontknow:

In a more short term relationship; Meh, it may be. :dontknow:

    ah, the ongoing debate...

There are plenty of couples who don't have sex and maintain a strong relationship.

However, I feel that whereas it isn't the most important thing in a relationship, it definitely makes me feel a whole lot closer to my boyfriend. Intimacy on that level cannot be achieved through just kissing and cuddling (even though they are also lovely ).

Basically, obviously sex feels good, but it also does make you feel so much closer to the person you're with. For me, anyway..

Satisfying a woman's needs is extremely important in a relationship. If you aint performing, you know she will be on it with a next man.

Yeah, I think sex is pretty darn important in sustaining a relationship. However, I wouldn't rush into it straight away, it'd have to be a good few months before I brought it up as a possibility =) .

I really dont knwo to be honest.

I personally think sex helps bonding the relationship between me and my boyfriend but that is not the case for every couple. :dontknow:

Sex and love are like 2 sides of A4 paper, very close but still two seperate things.

Amusing post. Do you suggest then that a pornstar ****ing another pornstar is becoming extremely close to her through the act? Of course he isn't.

Sex is just a way to satisfy some primitive urge. It really isn't the cause of some incredibly strong emotional bond. You only falsely believe it is.

Sex is the glue in the relationship..

When its all going to ****, just one headboard breaking, paint scraping, neighbor-waking bedroom stake out can salvage the passion in any relationship.

For just a girlfriend-boyfriend relationship, sex is quite important I think, but if you're looking to get serious and maybe get married, sex, although on the list, isn't at the top.

Actually, a hormone called oxytocin is released during orgasm which causes an unlearned tendency for emotional bonding (and also helps to promote sleep).

Ok I paraphrased the question again because you hear all these stories about women getting bored and ending long lasting relationships. What I want to know is do you think they would do that if they are being satisfied in the bedroom?

Do you suggest that two actors in a film playing a married couple are becoming genuinely close and romantic? No. They're acting for the sake of entertainment. Just like pornstars.

If you love someone, then its going to feel a whole lot different having sex with them as opposed to a one night stand with a stranger. Also, I didn't say it was the cause of an emotional bond, I said that it emphasized that bond.

It's important, but you can score points in other areas too.

So thats why me and my boyfriend always fall asleep after sex. You learn something new everyday.

Presumably next time this happens you're going to tell your boyfriend about oxytocin, so it freaks me out knowing that a bit of information I passed on will be a topic of discussion after you sex.

In my opinion, whether we have good sex or not it doesn't matter to me. Long term relationship is not based on sex. And if me and my guy doesn't a have good sex, it can improve in the long run while we're together anyway. It takes time and more experimentation with each other.
