Hello. I just got into both the MLitt in International Security Studies at the University of St Andrews and the MA in International Peace and Security at King's College London.

I would like to know which one is better exclusively in terms of academic level, since I don't really care to live in London or Scotland.

Thanks in advance.

congrats on your offers!

well I dont know about St. Andrews program but got an offer for Intl. Peace and Security at Kings as well and if I meet the conditions, I am definitely going there...

it depends on your interests, as from the description the ISS program at St. Andrews seems to be more general and broad while KCL program is really international law and IR together focused...

I would say that St. Andrews is better if you want to continue with PhD later, do research etc...Kings (I hope) is more practical...anyway, both programs will definitely be great!

Thank you for your comments and congratulations for getting an offer for IPS at KCL!!

I´ve heard that St Andrews is the best school in Europe regarding International Security. On the other hand, the international law component of KCL makes IPS very attractive as well.

Yeah, I believe its really really good uni for that. One of my professors here in the Czech Rep. studied the program couple years ago (but he had it 2yrs and got M.Phil degree) and I think he really liked it and enjoyed his time at St. Andrews! Now he works as a researcher in one Czech think tank (very good one) + he is a professor at my uni.

In your position, I would think about what I want to do after finishing the masters and then decide which offer accept. For me, it would be KCL because I study Security Studies in Prague (not that the level is even close to that of St. Andrews, lol) but I do prefer this international law specialisation because of my future plans...
Do you know what you wanna do after finishing your studies?

Both schools would look great on your CV as Dept. of War Studies is also well respected.
