Best Mate & Ex Dilemma

So I was friends with this guy, and then I met his gf who I became really good mates with, mainly after they had split up.

The girl and me have been very close mates for a few years now, closer than me and the guy, even though I still hung around with the guy.

Basically the guy has now moved to my own, and my best mate lives elsewhere. He text to meet up (as friends). Would it be unfair to my best mate if I did meet up with him? (as friends).

They didn't have a particularly bad break up btw. But I don't think she's over him still. If I did meet up should I tell her about it first? Or not tell her?

Just do what you think is best.

but I'd personally tell her that you are going to meet up with him, he was your mate before you became friends with her.
