# Functions question watch

1. Given that f(x) = ax + b and that f(2) = 7 and f(3) = 12, find a and b.

Is this just a matter of trial and error? Or is there a specific way of solving it?

Thanks

Write out f(2) and f(3) and you'll have a set of simultaenous equations to solve.
