Hello, this is my first 'thread',

right well, I've ballsed up my UCAS alot. 3 unsuccessfuls and now I am left with two conditionals, one to a place I dont want to go to, and the other as a lesser evil but would still prefer somewhere else. I can only go into clearing if I decline both, but I want to keep one as an insurance, decline the other, and try another. Can I ring up a university I have not applied to on my UCAS and ask if there are any vacancies wether I would be considered for the course, would they ask me for my details and what not, and tell me over the phone wether I could join the course so long as I get the required grades come august?

Any help would be a MASSSSSSIVE help.

Im new to all this 'life' **** .

You can't hang on to an offer whilst applying for a new one, and I doubt any uni would tell you for certain over the phone if they would accept you. By all means ring round and see what uni's might consider you at this stage (in Extra) but to officially apply for them you'd have to decline your two conditional offers. And no, you can't apply outside of UCAS.
