Same can be said for Newcastle. It's famous for it's famous for it to be fair.

Essex is higher ranked for politics, largely because of its research. I have no experience of the department at Essex, so I'd get opinions from people who have studied there, it's just I've heard that undergrads can be neglected at Essex's politics department with limited contact hours. Whether this is strill true or not I cannot say.

I live near Essex and it's nice but not amazing, i've been up to Newcastle a good few times and i have to say i prefer it, though Southend-on-Sea i love!
