    Hi

I have an assessment coming up at Northumbria Uni for the Social Work MA, and don't know what to expect. There's lots of advice on Social Work interviews, but I can't find anything about written tests.

Has anyone been through this process, or similar at a different uni?

There are going to be five questions, relating to a journal article that we will have to read. Any thoughts on what area the questions are likely to cover? I have a few days to prepare so want to be on the right track.

    Much appreciated.

Rather than wanting definite answers they will be looking at the way you view things and think about them etc. If you needed to revise any particular topics in detail they would have told you, but it would be a good idea to read up on topics like anti-discriminatory practice as they relate to pretty much everything on some level.
Have a look at www.communitycare.co.uk for current issues, and also look at the codes of practice on the GSCC website.

Thanks! Yeah I'm assuming they just want an idea of our values and the way we think, because they haven't given us much info. I've looked at all the jobs social workers do, and read lots about anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive ways of working. Got the codes of practice printed off so will look at those too. Thanks
