Is there a smart way to do question 8 or do I just have to do the computation to find the interpolating polynomial?
How is question 2 done? The bottom looks like the bottom of a Lagrange basis function, but how does that help?

Q8, I think you're just supposed to interpolate - it isn't exactly hard.
I found Q2 tricky.
Spoiler:ShowInterpolate the polynomial f(z) = z^m at the obvious points.
Spoiler:ShowThen consider the coeff of z^n on both sides. (You need to justify why you expect them to be the same).Last edited by DFranklin; 01-04-2011 at 22:42.
