Take the day off, drug yourself up on painkillers, drink a lot (preferrably orange juice of water) and watch TV

The only suggestions I ever used to get were to eat something really really hot, or stick your head over a bowl of boiling water with a towel over both. I can't say either ever worked, though.

It's it's a headachey feel awful kind of cold, sleep it off. If it's a full of phlegm and nose running constantly cold..... I don't know. I just sniff for three days until it goes away. Sorry!

Drink a lot of water. I know it tastes nasty spesh when you have a cold but your body will love you for it.
Make some warm orange squash or ribena with some honey in it - great for your throat
If you can find some echinacea or some garlic then take some of that
Take two paracetamol, even if you don't like taking pills. They'll bring your
temperature down
Hot water bottle for your ears
Curl up in bed!!

dont overdo the parocetemals..they trick your body into thinking its ok and things take longer to heal up...avoid them as much as you can..youll be better quicker..your temperature gets high for a reason!!

if its a sore throat..i swear by lemons....LOTS of warm water with honey and lemon in..and if my throat is burning and raw then i make some warm water..squeeze lemons into it and gargle..it burns..but i always felt it did some good...i dunno...i have no idea whether its true,,..but i always had the feeling it flushed something bad away..a sort of natural antiseptic

as for coughs...they suck ..and i usually give in with a good cough syryp...to loosen it up

xxxfeel betterxxx

Do you not get earache when you get a cold? I do and I have a mini-hot water bottle that I thought was really idiotic when I was given it but is great for ear ache!!

echinacea, zinc supplements, orange juice and water.

I usually squeeze some fresh orange juice - stock up on vitamin c....a few drops of ecchinacea (cant spell that word) and lots of steamy showers...

Use Vicks VapourRub.... mmmmmmm I love Vicks :p:

LemSip always seems to do me some good.
That doctor on GMTV suggested "brisk walks" in the cold, and general exercise, to kinda sweat it all out.

Not particularly useful, but I was going to a concert once with a cold, and thought it'd be horrible, but by the time I came out, I was pretty much cured! I guess it comes under exercise, or just magic.

Good luck anyway, I hate colds!

warm water with honey and lemon juice added is really calming and soothing:smile:
