Finally done those questions asked earlier ...

    5 of them:

    1.Conserving fish : fish quotas

Limit on amount of certain fish that fishermen are allowed to catch

The limit is worked out by scientist
    ---------
    2.Conserving animals: Captive breeding programme

Thats for species that are already extinct or endangered

Animals with low population are bred in captivity to increase their population
    ---------
    3.Conserving plants: Using seedbank

Lots of seed of lots of different species are stored and can be used when a plant species

become extinct ( by replanting the extinct plant)
    -----
    4. Conserving Habitat: Protected areas

    National park-coppicing

restricting urban development, industrial development and farming

    -----
    5. Conserving any organisms: Relocation

Move species with very low population which are directly under threat to new area

    Thats all I remember ..
    Correct me if am wrong
:lolwut: Where did all that come from? I've never seen it before. Or is it a 'suggest' question?

Its not in the Nelson Thornes textbook. I think CGP gives extra detail about things to help with the synoptic essay, or is this on the syllabus?

What do you all reckon the last 5-6 mark questions will be this year?
I have a feeling eutrophication will come up as one of them.

Yep, that hasn't come up in any of the new ones I think. Hopefully some respiration/photosynthesis. Maybe nitrogen/carbon cycle although I think carbon cycle has come up in one of the papers last year..

    p=1-0.56 = 0.44

    Because p+q=1

    q must be therefore 0.44.

    p^2+2pq+q^2 = 1

    heterozygous individuals is 2pq.

    therefore, its 2 x 0.56 x 0.44 = 0.4928

    answer x 100 [to get %] = 49.3%?

Standard error is about the variation about the mean.
It allows you to see whether the two have a significant difference due to chance?
    Not sure..."/

Suggest 2 reasons why there is an increase in the UK population.
Better/Improved health care , sanitation ,diet <-- people live up to old age, less infant death rate.
More people immigrate in uk .
I hope its right this time.

Btw thnxs for the hardy equation, i always get it mixed up with (a+b)^2 from maths.
