yes, fine. just wear whatever you feel comfortable in/what you normally wear.
Just wear whatever you want, i'd say sensible shoes so it's harder to fall over and you'll be standing all the time so they should be comfy, so yeh flat shoes!

Also maybe light clothing, ie something that will let your skin breathe as it'll be pretty hot and humid.

...but don't worry about bringing a coat and scarf as there will be a cloakroom. An extortionate one, yes, but it's there (Brixton Academy's was £4 when I last went :/)

Seriously, wear what you want. I can't see you looking out of place, all kinds of people go to gigs.

Funnily enough, people go to gigs to watch/listen to the music.

Unless it's Emo.
Wear anything you feel comfortable in. My gig wear is normally jeans and tshirt and a cardigan. Comfortable shoes are a must though. I had a friend who always went to gigs in tiny little skirts and huge high heel boots. The next day she always had really sore feat!! I couldn't do that
just dont wear those slip on shoes or dolly shoes or anything. they might come off lol

Nah, I wear them to gigs. To some pretty energetic ones and all. As long as the shoes fit you'll be fine...

I always wear trainers or boots to a gig. Need to be comfy
Normally I wear jeans and a t-shirt of the band. If I don't have a band shirt, I wear a cute lil top instead

I tend to wear band t-shirts as well but I often try and wear a bands influence rather than the band. For example for a Killers gig I wore a New Order t-shirt, for a New Order cnoncert I wore a Joy Division t-shirt.

I did wear a Smiths t-shirt for the Morrissey gig in Dublin and I few people asked me where I got it from. I always wear jeans as well, trackies are a big big big no no at gigs.

baggy jeans, belt, t-shirt (music related normally) flat shoes (skater shoes normally) as little jewelry as possible (caught up in a mosh dont fancy anything being ripped off)

dont bother with coat/jacket/handbag type thing or backpack anything like that, it'll get in your way, other peoples way and you may lose it

I normally wear jeans/trousers, a little t-shirt or top, you will get boiling if you intend to go near the front.. so don't wear a jumper there (even though you will be freezing waiting outside..) or if you have to wear something just bring like a little cardy or sumthin u can tie round your waist when you wana take it off.. don't take a bag either.. all you need is some money and your phone in your pocket (if you're goin with some guys, ask them to put them in their pockets lol.. cos i find money and stuff does not fit in my pockets!)

also, some people have this thing about 'oh you can't wear the band's t-shirt that you are goin to see..' I say wear the t-shirt if you want.. I mean if you're a fan then you might aswell show it!

anyways.. have fun!

I always try and wear the band's shirt - feel it makes me a proper fan
But I tend to only go to see gigs of bands I really really like (as in I've only been to four different bands)

WEAR CLOTHES!

For god's sake, there will probably be hundreds of other people there, all wearing different clothes according to their personalities and style. WHY DO YOU PEOPLE ALWAYS WANT TO FIT IN!?!?!? ORIGINALITY! ORIGINALITY YOU FOOLS!
Reply 14
yeh.. but there are the practicalities of wearing certain clothes to gigs! and seeing as she hasn't been to a gig before.. maybe she needed some advice about that!

If you plan to 'get involved' dont wear anything that you would be upset to throw away.... in fact there's always teh chance of a stray cup of beer/piss coming your way so don't wear anything too nice....

What practicalities? For god's sake, you are going there to listen and see a band, not to be seen. Wear whatever! I went to my first gig wearing, um, NORMAL CLOTHES! Nobody gives a damn!

yeah we do, I want girls that look good at gigs, dont want them looking like they've just rolled out of bed!!!
It's perfectly possible to look like you've just rolled out of bed AND look good.
