I'm 16—do I still have much to grow?

I know this might sound like an extremely stupid question to most of you but I actually don't think I'm going to grow much.

I'm 5'7 and I've practically stopped growing or having any growth spurts for more than a year.

I dun wanna stop growing. I know I'm only 16 but I think that I pretty much don't have that anything left to grow. I'm saying this because I'm Bengali. My mum is probably around 4ft11 to 5ft and my Dad is around 5'7. I've watched all my friends my age grow way taller than me and I'm practically one of the shortest out of all the average-heighted people. I used to be slightly above average 'cause I had a few growth spurts at a young age but then everyone just grew taller than me while I didn't grow at all. My brother is 6ft though.

So do I have much left to grow?

Apparently boys continue growing until around 21. I'd be more worried if I were a girl, because we stop growing around 16, and I've only a few months left until I'm 16 :s. With that being said, it's maybe a bit more worrying to be a short male than it is to be a short female.

Yes. End of!

You can still have long legs whilst being short, and men do biologically prefer short females with long legs to body ratio, than short females with a longer body. I'm sure the same applies to tall females with shorter legs and longer bodies.

i met my friend beginning of 1st year of college, now at the end of 2nd year he has grown a good 4 inches (complete guess, he used to be smaller but now taller than me) so of course u will grow more!

You'll develop into your 20s for the most part. Everyone is different, I know people hairier than gorillas at 16, but I'm nearly 20 and still getting body hair on the chest, abdomen and not even a decent beard yet.

yeah, i heard that people grow all throughout their teenage years, but at different rates. So, a sixteen year old should still grow taller (i hope!)

What about drinking milk, keeping your back straight and lotsa protein? Does that work at maximising your growth potential?

Do some yoga everyday. Seriously, there's been cases where adults have grown an inch or two, and you're only a teenage- a teenage male. Eat allot and run around allot.

I can't drink milk, I am lactose intolerant, and about the back thing yeah, you need to do stretching too.

Eh, you're only 16. You could grow a couple more inches. If not, there's always other options...

When I hit 16 I was about 5'8 i think. Now I'm 6'1" give or take half an inch either way (nearly 18). People develop at different speeds, some people grow until their 21, others are fully developed men at 16.

You'll more than likely grow buddy. If not then 5'7 isn't the end of the world. I'd put money on you reaching 5'9 though. I was just under 6' at 16 and 6'1 now (I'm 19 in july). Whereas I have friends who have grown 4+ inches from 16. My doctor still seems to think I'll grow another 2 inches from looking at my growth plates (and my dad and uncles did too) so go figure. If your bro's 6' you have a chance. But I wouldn't get your hopes up at being that tall.

That's for girls - OP is a guy.

I think you should just stick to making dirty comments tbh - that's your speciality

My growth all but stopped by the time I was 17, but now at 19 I've noticed it's slightly accelerated again.

I just wish I wasn't starting to get those first signs of ageing already :mob:
