    Hi everyone,

I am preparing for an interview at Institute of Education for Post-compulsory PGCE.
Are there fellow applicants or current students who could advice me about what will be asked at the interview? I am in the process of researching for the first question about describing one of the changes in FE in the last five years. I am curious about the other 'unseen questions'. Your help is greatly appreciated. I am planning to teach social sciences so I am focusing on why I want to teach social science.

    thank you

    warmest regards

Hi, I've done a PGCE FE in Social Science (although not at I of E).
I would guess the main issue might be QTLS - make sure you know what this is and how it differes from QTS. The growth of 14-16 year olds in FE might also come up, as might the growth in Foundation Degrees (known as 'HE in FE').

Also, education or training will soon be compulsory for 16-18 year olds, with massive implications for FE.

    Good luck

Unseen questions you refer could be:

How would you cope with two students that get into a physical confrontation?

What is your experience with students of this age range?

Do you drive? (Distance to placements)

    3 questions I was asked.
Do you like carrot cake?
