Hey, I have this flatmate who tends to get quite hot and bothered and doesn't really take criticism too well. Anyway we were having a discussion earlier where he got quite upset over a disagreement and ended up calling me a '*******'.
Because he does this quite often, I was wondering what you guys find good for getting people to calm down when they start getting emotional. I know this might seem like abit of an obvious question but, this guy is a bit... well different

if i know them well enough hugs normally work.

or you can just try and make the situation really awkward/weird to distract him. i find doing a handstand works quite well

Work out what they want and give them it without it seeming like charity.

Just shout earmuffs as loud as you can in a chinese accent mid argument and watch the anger be replaced with surprise and confusion
