You might want to cut down on the punctuation marks.

2001: http://www.admissions.ox.ac.uk/interviews/tests/EM.pdf
2002: http://www.studential.com/data/oxford_ecoman2002.htm
2004: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/x.yu/emtest.html

I'd appreciate if anyone had a copy of the 2003 written test paper for E&M.

Do you mean the written test taken during your interview period?

Section A of the three papers above are relatively similar, basically involving a summary and commenting on an issue related to the passage. Section B seems to differ substantially though.

In the 2001 paper, it was a question mostly about logic. The first question of section B in the 2002 paper was probability/statistics, while the second question was general [basic] maths. In the 2004 paper, the question in section B was essentially also basic maths relating to the topic of market failure.

By far, the logic question in the 2001 paper was the hardest IMO.

the logic Q in the 2001 paper is actually quite famous, so it seems unusual to put it in a paper like that - i'd had a look at almost exactly the same thing before i got interviewed in a collection of like things. if anyone's struggling with it PM me though

Question B 2002 is pretty hard... the one with the sheep and the farmer...

when it said the profit of A will be vSA, what does v stand for? Vulnerability? or just some random number?

hey, it was an intellegent guess!

v is a constant. Trust me, don't think too much about it. The question is do-able.

RxB: I actually have about 20-30 similar "logic" questions. Do you think I should practice them all?

NO.

I didn't get a single one. Go and read Thinking Strategically. If you've read it, go and read it again. Then go and sleep.

After that, do like I did in the week before interviews and go on the Clubs and Socities website and work out which societies you are going to join after you go up, and wrap yourself in your college scarf.

No, honest (I got a Merton scarf for my 17th :p: :p: )

can anyone help me out with the 2004 paper, section B. i am a bit confused!they are quite straight forward (except for the complicated language), so i doubt if i got the right answers:
a-the total daily emission is 8 tons
b- 40 for X
91 for Y
c- i)for price of 75: X buys 0, Y buys 2
50: 1 3
ii) price 50
iii) 70 for X, 40 for Y
d- (dont know if they r talking about the total costs of the 2 firms or of each firm).
can anyone tell me if i got the right answer?thx a lot

I honestly doubt you'll find any official solutions anywhere. You could discuss the math section with your friends (some threads on this forum offer suggestions), but for the most part of it, those papers are just to give you an idea of what to expect.

Don't fret, everyone's in the same boat!
