Hello, I am going to attend college next year and currently, I will be taking the subjects English Lit, History, Gov & Pol and Film Studies

But I am having serious doubts about taking Film Studies. The reason I opted for it is because i'm very interested in film and might be considering a career one day in that particular industry. However, I know film studies is not a respected subject and I am worrying that maybe taking film studies will 'ruin' by chance of getting into a very good university.

What do you think? Do you think my other subjects are strong enough to allow me to take film studies or would you recommend I change it?

It really depends what uni and course you're looking to do... If you're looking to keep your options open, replace film studies with something stronger. Though generall you are advised (when taking four subjects) to do 3 strong subjects and 1 you enjoy. so I dunnooo. You can get into film without doing film studies, definitely.

I advise you to take something like media, perhaps?
