Surely, if people feel persecuted in their country, or threatened, or unsafe, then they should apply for asylum in the nearest safe country to them. As far as I know this is what is supposed to be happening. But how come we accept so many applications from people who have travelled far and wide, through many safe countries to get to us?

    It doesn't make sense.

Because Britain is a soft touch when it comes to immigration. The reason people keep moving beyond the point of safety is because they are aware of our generous welfare packages.

Well at the moment, we are taking the majority of them. Is that fair? Because most of them are simply bypassing the safe countries to come here.

Shame, the way Britain's turning out with all the public cuts, rising unemployment - I'd be shocked at a refugee thinking it's great and wonderful to move speifically here right now

France is pretty awsum I say

Agreed, but it is also to do with racism as well along with this country being stupid
