And you don't want shisha to be banned. So according to your logic, you are also imposing your views on others.
How is me not wanting shisha to be banned forcing myself on others?

The same way you think OP wanting to ban shisha is forcing his view on others...it doesn't just work one way

    No it shouldn't be banned
But I do think there should be more information on it. It's painful to hear people argue how "the carbon monoxide in shisha is not as bad as the carbon monoxide in cigarettes"

Shisha flavours are taxed, the government would be loosing out if they banned it.

Banning shisha would take away the right of people who want to do shisha.

What right is taken away if we don't ban shisha? Nothing. People can do shisha if they want, they can choose to not do it if they want. It's called freedom to choose.

He is allowed to express his opinion, even though his opinion on the matter is disgusting. I didn't say he's not allowed to express his opinions. Freedom of speech is a two way street. You can express your views but others have the right to contest them. That's what I am doing. Unlike him, I haven't started a thread asking people whether we should ban those who think shisha should be banned from expressing their opinions.

Now, the fact is that the OP is an intolerant person who wants to force his views on others. If he had the opportunity, he would take away my right and your right to do something that has nothing to do with him. Does intention mean nothing to you? That, if he could, he would, mean nothing to you?
To be honest, no it doesn't mean much, because let's face it - it's not going to happen. Chill out. People will disagree with you in life. You'll give yourself an aneurysm if you keep getting stressed about hypothetical situations.

Well, we disagree there. Intention does matter to me. It's the basis of our criminal legal system, for goodness sake.

    Hope so.

Disagreement is OK, as long as what you're proposing isn't aimed at taking away other people's freedom.

    That's true.

    about hypothetical situations.
I think these are quite serious issues. It's not just about shisha. This, 'Oh, my god, let's, like, totally ban that and ban this,' mentality that is gaining ground, especially among young people in this country, is very disturbing. There are lots of idiots out there who think the solution is almost always to ban it. It's a threat to freedom, which so many people take for granted these days.

From Source 1 and Source 2

To sum up, shisha smoke contains tobacco, nicotine, carcinogens (cancer causing chemicals), carbon monoxide (gaseous poison).
    i stand corrected thank you

You feel dizzy because of the "nicotine buzz". First time users usually feel like this. It is harmful, think about it coal + flavored tobbaco. It's not better than smoking a typical shisha session last about an hour and imagine the amount you inhale in that time far more than a cigarette.
I do agree there should be an age limit I've seen kids as young as 12-13 smoking, it seems like year by year the shisha smokers become younger but that might just be my town.
I use to smoke it but stopped, I prefer clean lungs.
yup tht makes sense as i didn't feel dizzy etc cos i used to smoke and so i wasn't so new to it whereas others had not touched a cig let along a shisha. I would hope a shisha limit comes it and it starts from 19/20+ i think even 17/18 year olds abuse it.

How can you abuse it? I think 16+ should be allowed to use it but should be educated on the harms of it like they do with other drugs. 12-15 years old I doubt they know about the consequences of it, so they shouldn't be allowed to.

Most decent shisha bars will ask you for ID if you look really young... Theres probably some law making it illegal for under 18's to smoke it(that probably isnt enforced effectively) as it does contain tobacco.

Yeah, but where I live there are quiet a few shisha bars several have been raided time and time again. They pay a fine and then carry on.

Tbh I don't know anyone who's ever smoked shisha more than maybe once a week. It's so casual that it's not harmful really.

Absolutely hate shisha. Its completely over rated, plus its definitely worse than smoking cigarettes and claims that shisha has fewer health risks because it's flavoured is totally false.
