That I grew up in the 90s has far less to do with my picking them than the fact that there was a higher number of good releases in the 90s than any other decade. Many of the greatest and most influential releases came earlier but the 90s win out in terms of the sheer number of albums that are worth listening to.
That and black metal.
I'd be willing to bet that many of those picking the 60s and 70s (and 80s to a lesser degree) haven't even really explored the music of those decades beyond the obvious few bands.

80s for my personal taste, but any of those decades would be a fair answer depending on which kind of music you like.

The 80s closely followed by the 60s.
That said, my music collection tends to span different genres and decades
