I've never heard that before. Because hair colour can define sexiness? Though it's true to say that hair a certain colour can suit someone more like Ashley Tisdale being a brunette or Emma Stone being blonde.

I think men see brunettes more as girlfriend material? I've had brown, black, red and ginger hair. It's now blonde and it really is true that blondes have more fun, but when it's time to get a job and settle down I'll probably go back to brown hair!

Umm, your hair colour is attractive if it suits you and your colouring. I'm really fair skinned and have blonde eyebrows so having dark hair just makes me look ill/stupid

Edit: Lol my profile picture actually shows this. Dark brown hair in that one, and I look like a ghost, compared to the lighter hair in the others.

I am naturally dark blond and I hate the stereotypes caused by bimbos. However, where I am from (Norway), guys are used to seeing blond girls, the bimbos distinguish themselves by coloring their hair black (Katie Price-style), which is the more "porn"-look now anyway.

I suppose the reason that there is a 'thing' around blond hair, is simply that it is more rare? Obviously many can bleach their hair, but it only really works for those who are either dark blond or light brunette with fair features. So the range of women who can manage to pull off a blond look is quite small worldwide. And there is obviously the fact that blond hair is lighter and reflect the sunlight in a different way, which means you can easily be seen in a crowd. Plus many find it attractive.

I don't think blondes are preferred in any way today (most countries), and this thread is practically begging for men to go "I prefer brunettes!".

The fact that it is unattainable for girls with darker features makes it more attractive I suppose. I have friends from India and Africa who always say "I wish I could have blond hair" (Obviously if they're talking to guys, they will rather make some offensive comment about blondes being stupid and pretend to be happy with what they've got. That's women for you).

I like being blonde, and iif your features suit it, I think it is stunning (like Charlize Theron, Kate Hudson etc.)

I just got neg repped for this post, WTF?. Should I have cited my sources or something? It was just a matter of natural selection...

I came across a theory the other day that claims blonde hair started to become common among women during the ice age, when there was a lot of competition to get men (because a lot of men tended to die on long and arduous hunting expeditions). Women with blonde hair provided a new and interesting visual alternative for the men and therefore they were more popular, more likely to get the chance to reproduce etc.

Don't think that answers your question in a modern context though...

talking out of your ass i guess. maybe cite sources? only thing i've read scientific in terms of blonde hair is that it makes men think more of youthful fertility.

in practice if you're going to dye your hair blonde it better look real, if you have a dark mediteranean face and you have blonde hair its going to look completely wrong.

I know you're referring to women but I actually prefer brown haired guys. There really are hardly any blonde guys that I've ever found attractive, not unless it's like that dirty blonde colour, you know where you can see dark coloured hair in the guy's roots. Now that is a yum colour , like Bradley James's hair, that's what I'm meaning to verify! Whether it's natural or not it's like these guys have the benefits of both brown and blonde coloured hair!

    Blonde Bombshell
Blonde Nurses (whats up with the whole nurse thing anyway? lol)

Why are blondes considered sooo sexy amongst you guys?
They're not. I know a lot of guys who actively prefer brunettes, they tend to think it's more sophisticated. I also know a hell of a lot of guys who don't really care about a girl's hair colour.

As a girl though, I actively prefer dark haired guys. I've never really found a blonde guy attractive, but that's just me.

    Haha that made me laugh

I am a natural blonde, I don't fake tan or wear too much make up, I'm not stupid and I'm not a slut.

Why do the fake ones have to spoil it for the rest of us?
All those silly bimbo types aren't really blonde though, they always have dark brown roots showing, therefore they pretend to be blonde and pretend to act in a "blonde way" which really isn't a blonde way because the only people who are acting like that are ones with brown roots! I'm not saying that all brunettes who go blonde act like bimbos, but it is never natural blondes from my experience.

Natural blonde FTW!!! I love my hair, I would never change it

yeah, some of the studies discussing the youthfulness of blonde hair say this is actually a turnoff in the eyes of women because many women associate blonde hair with children and women. there was also a lesser correlation to blue eyes (blue eyes being youthful and not hot in men, but yes in women).

OMG I agree with you 100%. Whenever I think of a guy who's blonde, I always picture someone who is younger than like 25! Blonde hair in guys does seem youthful. But like I said, I like the dirty blonde look on a guy, that doesn't seem youthful to me.

Oh and also this! I hate hate hate it when people dye their hair to a 'fashionable' colour (chavs currently dying their hair black and leaving their eyebrows blonde - WTF) when it doesn't suit them, it looks absolutely horrendous. Although I have fair skin, it's a really warm yellowy tone and I have really dark eyelashes, eyebrows, and eyes. I'd look flat out stupid with blonde hair. People should look for what suits them and stick to that!

What looks best on people is what suits, no what's in at the moment.

Funny you say that as I always love dark haired guys, I've never found a guy with light hair to be attractive to me. Dark hair just looks more striking.

As you can see, blonde is just a hair colour, brunettes are INCREDIBLY sexy, or more appropriately; beautiful, too. If Blake Lively, for examply, dyed her hair red, would you say redheads are sexy because of her?

I'm a blonde guy and I prefer brunettes. But I wouldn't turn a blonde girl down if I liked her, it might look like we were plotting to create an Aryan master race though.

It is biological. Blonde is a weaker gene, therefore when breeding your genes are more likely to be passed on because they are dominant.
