I am in my second year at uni and have a good group of friends.

But I changed courses so am in the first year of my course, and because of stuff that has gone on I haven't been to many lectures so haven't really made any friends on my course. I will smile / say hi to one or two people I recognise but that's about it.

It hasn't bothered me that much because I usually just hang out with the friends I made last year and my house mates. But it would be nice to make some friends on my course.

Obviously when I start going to lectures I will chat to people, but it's kind of difficult because everyone has already made their groups of friends and I missed all that at the beginning.

But would it be weird to add someone on facebook on my course who I haven't spoken to much before?

It's not like I go looking for random people on my course. But if we're friends on fb with the same people sometimes they come up on the side bit and I think oh they're on my course, I might add them. But then I don't because I haven't spoken to them much before

Sooo is this weird if I randomly added someone??

Nah, it wouldn't be that weird. It seems that loads of people in the first year of uni add people they scarcely know.
