the majority will live off just loans and grants. It can be tough, especially if you're from the middle income bracket, but many people supplement their income with a part-time job. It's not impossible or no one would go.

There are still things you can do. The students' union should have some jobs advertised within the uni itself, and there'll be something within the town. Otherwise, it's just a case of budgeting properly and not being stupid with money.

Also you dont have to go to uni now. If you're absolutely skint you could get a job, save up for a couple of years and then go, there's no age limit.

Also, how do you think everyone else survives? Get a job, have a weekly budget for food and dont piss it all away. Its good practice for when you;re older and have to be able to afford a house and kids and such

Beg relatives? I get a few bob from my grandad and it helps keep things afloat. Its just a bit retarded when my loan doesnt even cover accomodation expenses... what the hell am i supposed to feed myself on?

I wish you could increase the loan amount tbf. I wouldnt mind another grand or two a year. :/

I do have savings (hopefully 1,000 when i start university) but im not sure if this would be enough, yeah i have thought about applying again next year, although ive gotten a place at a good university (not my first choice though). I might regret not going and i might not get in again.
