Just after I had applied to the universities I had to take months off college for Health reasons. After getting all my offers back, the lowest being BBB, I realised that it's going to be very difficult for me to meet those requirements as I have 2 or 3 months to learn everything I missed from the A2 year. I was wondering if I should phone the universities and explain the situation to them or just wait and apply through clearing?

It won't do any harm contacting the universities and explaining the situation.

The other thing you should do is talk to your college. They may be able to enter you for exams with mitigating circumstances/special consideration, meaning that the exam board take into account the fact that you have been ill for a long period of time when marking your work.

3 months is still long enough to learn a large proportion of what you need to know. Try your best to learn as much as possible and get those good grades. Yes, you may end up having to go through clearing, but don't give up yet as you don't want to throw away that chance of going to your chosen university. It will also be a bit easier getting a place through clearing if you have decent grades and don't completely mess up.

You shouldn't contact them. Your referee should.
