I've been offered an interview for a phd in Sociology, for a scholarship application. I have no idea what to expect and was frankly surprised to get the interview! My grades have not been great (although it said this on my application form) and I am a mature student doing a masters at the moment. Does anyone have any advice? I would be grateful for any help.

Congrats on the interview. Just show them you're genuinely interested in the subject, check out all potential methodologies to use prior to the interview and that you're open to direction and influence from the director of studies etc. Try to be concise, and if you're not sure about a question ask for it to be repeated or explained further.
Do you agree with the proposed ban on plastic straws and cotton buds?
