Hiya people. I just want your view on the 4 A-Level subjects that i'll be taking from September. At the minute my thoughts are:

    1. English Lit
    2. Media Studies
    3. Law
    4. Classical Civilisation or Buisness Studies

Can anyone give me a heads up and your opinions on these please? Apparently Classics is quite interesting and not particulary that hard.

    Thanks

If you're aiming to apply to top universities, that combination would get you an instant rejection. They would want to see two traditional subjects (Maths, Biology, English, History, Economics, etc) and at most one undesired subject (Media Studies, Law, Business Studies, etc).

Have you an idea of what you'd like to do at university?
English Literature and Classics are great choices - some universities will see Media Studies, and perhaps Law, as "softer" subjects, which as the other poster said is something to bear in mind in relation to uni applications. If there's another "traditional" subject you enjoy, I'd consider swapping that in.

Yeah, I'd like to do Journalism/ Sports Journalism at uni, so really i think Media Studies would bode well if I'm gonna go down that route. Im good at Maths (I should get an A overall), but I dont particulary enjoy it.
