Yes of course. It affected me self-confidence too. I'm really bad at taking rejection.

It was devastating...i was too dumbstruck to react initially right when he broke up with me, but half an hour into it realised he didn't even tell me WHY he broke up with me and that was very very hurting and yes, i cry myself to sleep almost every night.

yes, it crushes your confidence, you end up doubting yourself, you start viewing yourself as something inferior to most other people...well it sucks!

I've never been rejected really, but I have cried when the person I like likes someone else /:

This is relevant because it happened the other day. Some sort of awkward love triangle. I like my friend but she likes my best friend but he doesn't like her back. First I was furious with my best friend but then we decided to stick together through this now I think she knows I like her but she is okay with it. Basically our friend group is a bit awkward at the minute

But yeah, I cried when I found out, then got angry, but then calmed down. Heh.

I did the first few times - when I asked people out and they said no. That gets easier after the first few tries (clocked up too many rejections to count )

As for rejection/breakup, I cried for months after my ex dumped me. Didn't exactly help when he got into a new relationship a month after breaking up with me and kept telling me how great she was :eyeroll:

In all honesty this is why I tend to guard myself and not admit my feelings to people, because of a fear of rejection. However now I know that it's best to just go for it because you never know what might happen and don't want your life to be full of "what-ifs".

This is also why I used to avoid people if I hear they like me and I don't like them back, which looking back is probably worse than outright rejecting them..
