    Haha yea I know.

I'm in the City but I told my housemate about it and he spread the news around BarCap interns as well.

    Also Claredale halls.

i've just checked out this place and it look like a dump... I mean you don't even have your own bathroom.. don't IB's pay you so you can actually afford living in london like a normal person... and the hours you will have to put in, coming home to a place like that is just so demotivating... you guys really have no problem living like that, is it just me?

a few reasons why most people go for crappy halls -

they actually offer the option of renting for 10 weeks, where as getting a flat would require 6 months minimum or a huge premium for short term.

all companies that rent out rooms in halls want to be paid for the whole 10 weeks up front, so anyone staying in the nicer halls (£300 p/w) will be looking at coughing up over £3000 - the banks pay wages monthly, so most interns will have to wait 4 or 5 weeks to see any cash, those £2,000 re-location bonuses don't cover the rent and living costs for 5 weeks.

networking, lots of interns all living in one building, great chance to bond or pretend to like people so that you can 'use' them one day in the future.

you'd want a place convenient/close if you're in ibd. there, you have no weekends.
