For the following studies, I'm trying to classify which is descriptive and which is experimental, is it correct this way:

    1- Longitudinal study
    2- Cohort study
    3- Observational study
    4- Case study
    5- Repeated measures design
    6- Independent design

Can we say that all of them are descriptive except fro 6?

And, by the way, what can we call those six types of studies and design? Are they research methods?

5 and 6 seem like 2 of the 3 'experimental designs' to me - so both would be classed as 'ways of carrying out an experiment'
1,2 and 4 could use a range of methods e.g. you could interview and/or observe within a case study.
Observation is a research method but there are diffrent ways of observing (e.g. by interval)

Not sure if this helped you or not??
