Haha- i just really wanted an en suite (but it wasn't available when i applied) so i went for the next best thing. However i recently switched to catered accommodation because I just couldn't get my head round living in a studio flat.

Its quite possible that the food situation might have changed a bit in the time since your economics teacher was in halls

My advice to BGP studioers: the closest and best friends you make at uni will often be the people you live with, and it can be surprisingly easy to drop off the radar when you have everything you need in your room. Make the extra effort!

Out of interest, as someone who is on a gap year and so has not lived at BGP, what are you basing your opinion on? Recommendations from friends?

I'm being an optimist! But it seems great and I wanted self-catering and my own privacy so a studio seems ace and very fitting Did some research too, i.e.e distance from campus etc.
