# MECHANICS 1 - Impulse and Momentum watch

1. Could someone explain the link/differences between Impulse, Momentum and Magnitude of Impulse?

We have been given the formulae:

Momentum = mass x velocity

Magnitude of Impulse = force x time

Impulse = final momentum - initial momentum

I don't really understand the difference particularly between the two Impulse formulae.. I don't do physics either which I don't think helps, so any help would be appreciated!!!

for M1 impulse is simple change in momentum - final momentum - initial momentum so in formula it's mv - mu (make sure you define your positive direction since velocity is a vector)

the second impulse formula is derived from newtons second law. F =ma
