Vaccines

I have vaccines coming up soon. Polio/tetanus and some other 1 i cant remember. I also have MMR. Now, seen as i do not like needles, i have the chocie whether i want to have it. So, i am wondering how important it is that i have these? They are all boosters and i have had all my main needles, so are these really that important?

I would consider them all important. I don't like needless, so when I came to have my mmr a month or so ago I just turned away and it was over in seconds. Your doctor or nurse wil be the best person to speak to.

They give you booster vaccines for a reason you know. :tongue:

I know you hate needles but it's probably for the best, I think the polio one isn't actually an injection anyway? Both tetanus and MMR are a lot more preferable to getting the diseases they guard against, which can be extremely serious...
So you go and get those jabs! The tetanus one made me ill and miss a week of school.... which is a good thing, right? :tongue:

In the long run you'll be better off having the injections. Tell the nurse or doctor that you're scared of needles and they'll reassure you and do it as quick as possible. They might gove you a lollipop and a sticker as well if you don't cry! :p:

...yes and mumps is becoming quite common again in places now, esp. universities and schools :frown:

You'll be fine! Just tell the doctor you're nervous and they'll reassure you and make it as comfortable and quick as possible.

Well don't look at it like that then!!! They're not 'stabbing' you..they're inserting something into your body that will make you better in the long run! :p:
