I'm probably going to do an economics degree (2012 entry) and I've seen both a 4 year MSc at Soton and a year in industry at Kent. Which one will be more beneficial in terms of getting a job afterwards?

I would say year in industry given the current climate of needing work, a year is going to benificial in obtaining work experience. Can you always top up on the Masters after the degree anyway?

I'd personally do the MSc course and just apply like mad for internships each summer.

Is it worth getting into more debt for relatively little increase in employability (if any at all)?
