    I'd rather just get up when the alarm goes off so it doesn't wake me up 2/3 more times.

    Put your alarm clock on the other side of your room, and you're forced to get up to turn it off.

    Then if you go back to bed, it's because you really want to, not because you're in bed already

    Also try using music to wake you up, it's much nicer. You can get software alarm clocks like http://www.ornj.net/citrus/ (not free) which turn your laptop on from hibernation to fade in music. It's a nice way to wake up. Then just set another alarm, 5 mins after and you'll get up a lot more easily.
