    In terms of pedigree, Doctors and Lawyers.
    Underrated pedigree (mostly by those who think it involves plumbing but more knowledgeable people respect it highly), are Engineers.

    Higher status, but despised by the public, Politicians and Bankers.

    If you care about fame, Singers, Actors, those who are the face of Entertainment in general.

    Personally I respect NGO workers or public servants who get oxbridge or russel group degrees and the spend their lives and talents on helping people, usually without any notice from society. But obviously you want the MONIES so I would say company CEO :auto: :lockstock:

    Also the armed forces, cappin Talibans is bare cool and the arm tans you get deserve recognition :fight:

    In the old days, naval officers were certainly up there, and especially in more traditional circles, they still are (guess what I'm aiming to be! :rolleyes:).

    Of course, this has occasionally produced less than ideal results, such as the C-in-C Mediterranean Fleet at the start of the First World War, Sir Archibald Berkeley Milne, who had spent much of his career in H.M. Yachts, and to whom Queen Alexandra fondly referred as "Arky-Barky".
